Quick Overview of My “Blogs & Photos”

I’ve tried to set-up blogs and photos by specific trips; sometimes these are to one country or continent in particular (on a single trip or over multiple years), or sometimes to multiple countries on the same trip. There’s no rhyme nor reason to what I or my wife and I have picked other than being places I/we find interesting or that other seasoned travelers have told me about.

Beginning with my August 2023 trip to Papua New Guinea, my posts have been written specifically for this site. Prior to that, what you’ll see here are screen shots of the posts I made to Facebook when I was actually on the trip, along with the photos I’d posted there; the photos on this site are “originals” reposted here so as to provide better resolution and so that they can be cropped and colored as I choose (as opposed to what FB or Instagram does to them).

My first journey post-COVID was to Uganda in the Fall of 2021, and I’ve tried to do at least two substantive trips per year (not including winter-time retreats to the sun with my wife). The menu under “Blogs & Photos” has entries for all of those journeys and more.

Despite all the trips you’ll see here, my bucket list remains fairly lengthy; that list includes the one US state I’m missing – Alaska, along with . . . Namibia, South Georgia Island & the Falklands, the Trans-Siberian Railroad from Vladivostok to Moscow, Japan beyond Tokyo, the Galapagos, Kruger in South Africa, Iceland, India, and an Arctic Cruise that includes Svalbard. And there’s more. There’s. So. Much. More.

Let me know, too, if you’ve got places you’d suggest that aren’t on this list. The list always gets longer, never shorter!
