Going on a gorilla trek – hiking into the rainforest to see mountain gorillas – had been on my bucket list for a number of years. It finally happened in October 2021, when I joined an Abercrombie & Kent expedition that included the gorilla trek, along with a chimpanzee trek and visits to four national parks in Uganda.
